On the way to pick up supplies with John, Cameron begins to have flashbacks of her past; she has visions of the Terminator dominated future. She recalls being chased though a tunnel and being ensnared by a net.
John's voice snaps her back to the present. He says he is going to go to Radio World and Cameron is off to the grocery store.
Meanwhile, Sarah pulls up to her house and sees Kacy, the pregnant lady who is renting the place to them. Sarah sees that Kacy is in pain and takes her to the hospital.
At the grocery store, Cameron is shopping, but her reflection triggers another flashback. Confused by these memories, she runs into a stack of watermelons, knocking them over. She stands there in place for a few minutes and the grocery employees call in the police.
The police arrive, ask her for identification and question her about using any drugs. Cameron stares blankly and the police take her in.
John arrives at the grocery store trying to find Cameron. An employee tells him that a girl 'wigged out' in the store that day and the police were called in. The employee describes Cameron's physical makeup and tells John that they took her back to the station.
In the police station's holding cell, Cameron has another flashback and remembers being imprisoned in a dark room where she was branded on her arm with a barcode. Cameron is befriended by another inmate, Jody. The store manager has decided not to press charges and release Cameron and Jody at the same time. Jody notices that Cameron has a huge wad of cash and asks her to hang out.
John goes down to the station tells the police officer that he is Cameron's brother. The officer tells John that she took off an hour earlier with a girl named Jody. He adds that she likes to hang out at the boulevard and John leaves to try to find them.
Meanwhile at ZeiraCorp, Catherine Weaver meets with Agent Ellison to further discuss his possible employment for the company. Weaver tells the story of losing her husband during a helicopter accident. Weaver explains that the helicopter was a flawless machine and her husband was killed due to human error. She says in certain extreme conditions some of the most calm and careful men panic. Ellison says that he will consider her offer and leaves.
Later, Ellison meets with Lila, a co-worker at the FBI. Lila provides him with information about Weaver. He receives a report about Weaver's husband's accident. He tells Lila that he is considering leaving the FBI to join her company.
Ellison meets Weaver at her office and find that she has a daughter, Savannah. He tells Weaver that he read the accident report and it indicates that her husband's death was officially due to mechanical malfunctions. He shares his belief that sometimes the official story is not really what happened and is used to tell people what they want to hear. Weaver agrees with his belief. Ellison finally accepts her offer to join ZeiraCorp.
Back on the streets, Cameron, who takes on the identity of Alison, and Jody hang out and get to know each other better. Jody tells Cameron that she moved to Los Angeles, lost her job, and was forced to live on the streets.
Later, Jody sees a man and tries to run away, taking Cameron with her. The man sees them running and catches up with them. He ends up punching Jody and choking Cameron. After Cameron gives the man her wad of cash, he takes off.
The girls then go to a half-way house to stay a few nights. During this time, Cameron meets with a counselor to talk about her emerging memories.
Cameron recalls being in a room and being interrogated by an unseen person. She recalls telling the person that she lives in a tunnel and eats garbage for dinner. The interrogator is wanting to know where she currently lives, but she changes the subject and talks about her family. She talks about her bracelet being a present for her birthday.
Cameron tells the counselor about her worries for the human race being hunted to extinction. She tells the counselor that she remembers that she was born in Palmdale.
Cameron recalls her home phone number and calls her mom. Her mom picks up and says she doesn't have a daughter, but that she is pregnant.
Cameron hangs up in disbelief that her mother does not remember her. Jody tries to cheer her up by playing in the foyer.
John finally tracks down Cameron by finding someone who knew Jody. He shows up at the half way house and sees Cameron hanging out with her new friend. Jody leaves to get a soda and John approaches her. Cameron does not recognize John and says her name is Alison. John tells her that her name is Cameron and that she is a machine sent back from the future.
This triggers a memory of her briefly escaping her cell and running into a room of caged humans. She leaves the humans to climb a ladder and finds herself to be on top of a aircraft carrier. Spotlights shine on her and she decides to jump off the ship. She survives the fall, but a net is in the water and scoops her back on board.
She snaps out of her memory when Jody returns and John tries to force Cameron out of the building. Cameron gets angry and pushes John against the wall. Security officers arrive and ask John to leave.
Back at the hospital, Sarah is at Kacy's bedside while she is having tests done. Sarah meets with her husband, Trevor, who turns out to be a Los Angeles police officer. Trevor is friendly to Sarah and invites and her kids over for barbecue. He even asks if he can take out John to the shooting range. Trevor is forced to leave because of a police call and asks Sarah to watch over Kacy. Sarah agrees and stays with Kacy.
At the halfway house, Cameron tells the counselor that she thinks that she is a machine. She recalls being recaptured and interrogated by a Terminator that looks exactly like herself. She slowly realizes that she is the Terminator. She remembers discovering that Alison lied to her about receiving a bracelet as a birthday gift. As a Terminator she found other humans wearing the same bracelet. She finds that the bracelet is a pass into the human resistance camps. Future Cameron tells Alison that Future John was close to Alison and that she planned to infiltrate the resistance using her likeness. Cameron says that entering without the bracelet would have given her away as being a Terminator. Being angry that Alison lied, Cameron grabs her neck, snapping it and killing her. Cameron later tells the counselor that she is on a mission to kill John Connor, the saviour of mankind. She tells the counselor that she plans on putting his head on a pike for all to see.
The counselor then calls the authorities to take her away. Before they arrive, Jody convinces Cameron to run away to Portland. Jody tells her that they need some cash first and she knows where some is. Jody takes her to a house where they break in. Jody tells Cameron that she used to babysit for the owners and knows the combination to the safe. They open the safe and take the jewels. While there, Cameron discovers that Jody has been lying to her about her entire life story the whole time. She finds out that the house actually belongs to Jody's parents who disowned her. Angry at being lied to, she grabs her neck.
John has been following the two and walks in to find Jody on the floor. He hears her breathing and the two quickly leave. Cameron keeps a necklace that Jody gave to her and John asks her about where she got it. She lies and says that she got it at a thrift store.
BeeThoughts
I think Cameron's choice of not telling John about the necklace and her memory of the Terminators discovering the bracelet pass shows that she may be doing what is best for mankind. She was reprogrammed to protect John Connor, but not to prevent human extinction. I think Trevor will end up teaching John alot about firearms. I predict him appearing in a few episodes to be a father figure to him, however, I think he might be tragically killed off. I thought the 'official story' conversation between Ellison and Weaver was kind of interesting. I thought that the fact that he is no longer carrying a cross may indicate that the story may develop religious and Biblical themes.
