John's search for logos consisting of three dots yields multiple results from companies working in different industries. He gets tired, quits then goes to bed. Later in the night, Cameron goes to the library to deliver a bag of donuts to Eric, a young man in a wheelchair. Cameron and Eric speak as if they are old friends. Cameron sees an old black and white picture of a man looking up to the sky as a firefighter crew responds to a building fire. Cameron recognizes the man as a T-888 Terminator. Eric says that the picture was taken after a 1920's New York city speakeasy fire where 44 people died. He says that there was a lot of rivalries between speakeasies during the time. He says that there was a rumor that someone threw a moltov cocktail into the club. Cameron tells Eric that she needs to know what happened to the man in the picture.

Eric tells Cameron that he feels like he is recovering from his bone cancer. He researches the speakeasy fire on microfiche. Cameron and Eric find that the man in the photo was named Mirian Stark. They find a newspaper clipping of Stark shaking hands with Rudolph Valentino, a silent film actor. Cameron examines the photo closer and sees that Stark was paying more attention to a man named Rupert Chandler, the owner of a construction company.

John receives a distressed call from Riley. Riley asks John to meet her. John finds Riley at a party being held at a teenage boy's house. Riley says that she called because some guy was bothering her, but that she is fine now. Riley asks John to hang out with her.

Eric tells Cameron that there are more records locked in the basement. Cameron breaks the lock and begins to investigate Stark further. Eric sees that Cameron broke the lock to the room and says that it might get him in trouble. Eric gets upset and falls off his wheelchair. Cameron tries to help, but he pushes her, then rolls away. Later, Cameron goes up to him to apologize. Cameron says that she doesn't want to lose his friendship. They listen to a record containing a news report of a man shot several times while robbing a bank. They find that Stark purchased land and started a construction company after the robbery incidents. They watch a video reel about Stark's company and his rise to starting a successful business. They find that Stark's rivals mysteriously went missing. While researching, Eric discovers that Cameron brought a gun to the library. He asks if she is in trouble. Cameron says that she gets into fights while protecting her brother. Eric says that he has never fired a gun before. She instructs Eric on how to shoot as he fires into a book. He is thrilled at having shot a gun for the very first time.

Back at the party, Riley plays video games with the boys of the house. Riley asks John if he wants to play. He says that he has never played before, but hesitantly sits down to play against another boy in a first person shooting game. John is beaten by his oppponent. After he loses, John says that he wants to go. As Riley and John start to leave, one of the boys stops Riley and says that Riley stole his lighter. John grabs the boy from behind, takes him down, and begins to beat him on the ground.

Cameron and Eric watch a recent news report of a man discovering the body of Jeffers, the owner of one of Stark's rival construction company, in the California desert. Cameron imagines Stark murdering the man. They find that Will Chandler, an architect and son of a construction company owner, was killed during the speakeasy fire.
