A woman runs screaming through her home. She locks herself in a room and holds back the thing trying to get to her. She sits on her bed and waits. She is then grabbed and pulled underneath her bed. A photo of John Winchester sits on her bedside table.

Dean wakes up in the car and sees Sam brushing his teeth at the shore. The phone rings and Sam sees that it is John's phone that is ringing. Dean answers the phone and tells the man on the other end that John died. The man tells Dean that he is John's son. Sam researches Adam Milligan and tells Dean that his story checks out, but Dean is convinced it is a trap. The two wait in a diner for Adam to arrive. Dean replaces Adam's water with a glass of holy water. Dean tells Sam that if he doesn't react, it only means he is a shapeshifter. Sam shows Dean an entry in their dad's journal that places him in Minnesota nine months before Adam was born there. Sam points out that the following two pages were ripped out. Adam walks in and sits with Sam and Dean. Adam asks them how he knew his dad and Sam says they worked together. Adam asks how his dad died and Dean says he died on the job. Adam points out that John was a mechanic and they say a car fell on him. Adam says he was looking for his dad because his mom went missing. He says his mom is a nurse and she met John when he came to the clinic torn up from a hunting accident. He says he was twelve when he first met him. Dean holds a gun under the table and waits for Adam to hold the silver utensils. Adam reminisces about John and Dean becomes upset. Dean tells Adam that he and Sam are John's real sons. Adam is surprised to find out he has brothers. Adam tells them he can prove that he is John's son. He shows them a picture of him and John at a baseball game. Sam asks Adam about his mom and he says she has been missing for the last three days. He says the cops couldn't find anything, but he knows she wouldn't leave without telling anybody.
