A man named Charlie has pie and coffee at a diner. Charlie then turns up dead in his car from a gunshot wound to the head. Kevin and Cyrus examine the scene. They see that the passenger window was open and think the victim may have known the assailant. They see three gun shot holes, but find only two casings. Kevin finds an envelope in the car and sees unsigned divorce papers. Cyrus says the divorce is final now.

Kevin and Cyrus talk to Charlie's ex-wife. She says he had the papers for 3 weeks, then suddenly called her and said they needed to sign them right away. She adds that Charlie's contracting business wasn't going well and he had to borrow money.

Kevin and Cyrus go to Charlie's construction company. They see men fighting and learn that some men are trying to repossess equipment to get paid back for the money they loaned to Charlie. The detectives talk to Charlie's partner, but he has no information about Charlie's death.

The detectives talk to Anita. She asks to look at Charlie's cell phone records. They see calls to two law firms and learn that neither one was handling the divorce. They also see a call from a location two blocks from where he was killed. They look at the location and see the diner. The detectives go to the diner and the waitress tells them that Charlie said he was going to stick it to the guy who was sticking it to him.

The detectives go to the first law firm Charlie called and learn Charlie was part of a class action suit against an airline company. The lawyer, who was representing the airline, says that the original judge on the case was killed two years ago which has made the case drag out for a long time. He says Charlie called him out of the blue and told him that he had important evidence that could help the airline win the case. The lawyer said it was odd because Charlie was part of the suit against them.

The detectives then go to the other lawyer, Mr. Winston. He tells them that Charlie called frequently to find out when he was going to get money from the class action suit. Winston says he didn't know anything about evidence Charlie had in relation to the case.

Kevin and Cyrus then go to the airline that the class action suit is against. Kevin asks the representative about the letters he sent to the families in the class action suit to try to get them to drop the case. The detectives suggest that he was harassing them. He says that Charlie was harassing him by posting things about him online. Cyrus looks over the man's records about Charlie's online postings. They find out that the computer Charlie was using was located at his parent's house. Kevin thinks that Charlie may have kept his secret evidence at his parents house. The detectives arrive at the house and see that it had suffered a fire. A fireman tells them that the fire was caused when oxygen tanks that Charlie's mom used for her emphysema exploded. The detectives then learn that oxygen tanks can explode in a plane.

The detectives tell Anita that they think Charlie was going to tell the airline company that an oxygen tank could have caused the explosion, which would make the explosion they are being sued for not be their fault. Kevin and Cyrus then go to Winston. They ask him what his alibi is for the murder since he has a financial stake in the case. Winston says he was home alone watching TV. Kevin tells Cyrus that Winston looks guilty.

Kevin gets a text message saying Mr. Winston was arrested last week. They try to get the arrest information, but they are told the records are sealed. Cyrus flirts with a female officer and tells her to call him if she can give him any information about the Winston arrest. She jokes that she has a husband, then looks up the information. She says Winston was arrested for criminal trespass at Charlie's parent's house, but the sheriff voided it after confirming he was Charlie's attorney. They discover the car Winston was driving the night of the arrest belonged to his law partner.

The detectives go to Winston's partner Hewitt and ask if Winston had permission to drive his car while he was gone. He says no and they all examine the car. Kevin finds the missing shell casing lodged near the windshield wiper. The detectives then go to Winston and arrest him for Charlie's murder. Winston demands to see an arrest warrant, but Kevin jokes that he left it at the office.

Winston enters a plea of not guilty and says he will represent himself. The judge learns that he is working on the case from Flight 33. She sets bail at $1 million and he says it won't be a problem. He then asks for a gag order and a closed court so that his case won't be affected. The judge grants his motion.

Winston asks Michael and Connie if they own stock in the airline since it would pose a conflict of interest. The lawyers then bicker over who does better work. Winston tells them that he is going to have the evidence they collected suppressed since it was obtained illegally.
