- The second season of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here premiered tonight on NBC. Find out what happened when Heidi and Spencer, Sanjaya, Janice Dickinson, Lou Diamond Phillips, and the rest were dropped into the Costa Rica jungle.

The celebrities are split up into two teams. The red team consists of Heidi and Spencer Pratt, Janice Dickinson, Patti Blagojevich, and John Salley. The yellow team features Lou Diamond Phillips, Frangela, Stephen Baldwin, Torrie Wilson, and Sanjaya Malakar.

The red team walks to their camp site. Along the way, they are faced with a wide river they must cross. Patti gets caught in the current, but she is able to reach a lagoon and they all cross safely. The yellow team follows team leader Stephen to the camp. Stephen worried that Frances will not have the stamina to compete. The red team arrives at camp first, followed by the yellow team. They find a set of rules and learn that they will have to clean up after each other. Spencer worries that his wife Heidi is having a meltdown. The two discuss their situation and decide they want to go home. The rest of the group reminds them that they are playing on behalf of their charities. Spencer tells the group their charities don't need the money and the two take off. Spencer calls the producer and says he is too famous to be there. The producer convinces them to stick it out a little longer. Meanwhile, the rest of the group talks about the spoiled brats from the Hills, but the conversation is cut short when Heidi and Spencer return to camp.

Heidi, Spencer and Sanjaya watch the fire and decide to dance around it before going to bed. The celebrities wake up and John, who announced that he is a vegan, begins to cook for the group. Frangela are annoyed that everyone is doing chores while Heidi and Spencer spend the morning sleeping. A little later, Stephen notices that Spencer and Heidi are missing. They hear Spencer shouting in the distance and the group figures the two are gone for good. The celebrities divide up Heidi and Spencer's belongings. Heidi and Spencer return and become upset that the group took the labels off their stuff. Spencer knocks a water bottle out of Angela's hand and she scolds him for hitting her hand and tells him to calm down. Spencer goes on a verbal rampage and decides Torrie is his new enemy since she was making fun of Heidi's hair products.

Hosts Myleene Klass and Damien Fahey enter the camp and announce that the teams are changing to be men versus women. Torrie goes for a swim and Spencer decides to take her belongings to the river. The group tells Spencer to put Torrie's things back, but Spencer ignores them and hides Torrie's bag in the trees. Torrie returns to camp and finds out what Spencer did. Torrie retrieves her things and Spencer apologizes to the group for his actions. The group thinks he is sincere, but secretly Spencer admits he views the other celebrities as his servants.

The celebrities learn that they will face their first food trial. They are instructed to fill their canteens with water and meet Myleene and Damien in the jungle clearing. The celebrities learn that they will be competing for chicken and fruit. The teams are then told that they will have to send a member of the team up to finish a plate of food. Janice is able to sit the competition out. John faces Heidi to eat a rat's tail. John swallows it whole and wins the round. Sanjaya and Angela are next to drink a cow's intestine milkshake. Sanjaya wins and Spencer is next to face Frances to see who will eat a live walking stick. Both are able to eat the insect, but Frances finishes first. Lou and Patti are given tarantulas to eat. Both start to chew the spiders, but Lou finishes first and wins the round. Torrie and Stephen are next to eat cow intestines and Torrie wins the round. John and Heidi return to the table and are given three scorpions to eat. John finishes first and Sanjaya and Angela are given iguana tails to eat. Sanjaya finishes first and wins the competition for the men's team.

It begins to rain and the celebrities head back to camp. The group bonds over the horrifying challenge. Patti opens up to the group about her husband's legal situation. The celebrities are supportive and Heidi prays for Patti and her husband. The food then arrives for the men. The guys kindly share their pineapple with the ladies. Spencer throws his rind into the fire and Janice yells at him. She reminds him that the food scraps will lure the rats into the camp and he apologizes. Torrie reads a scroll that instructs the teams to select a leader for their team. The men choose Lou and the ladies pick Janice. The next morning, Stephen reads a scroll that explains Janice and Lou will be competing against each other to find out who will be the leader of the whole group. Janice and Lou are seated in a chair with their arms chained to buckets of slime. Janice taps out and Lou is named leader. Lou finds out that he is exempt from food trials and will be awarded food every night for the week. He also gets to allocate celebrities to complete the camp chores. Heidi and Spencer sleep through the assignments and fail to volunteer for any chores.

The celebrities learn that they will face another trial and the winner will earn immunity from elimination. The group heads to the jungle clearing and Stephen announces that he was bit by a bullet ant. Damien explains that everyone will be strapped to a board and lowered head first into the trauma tank filled with various critters. The last person to tap out wins the challenge. Cockroaches are dropped into the tank and the celebrities start to evacuate, but time runs out before the task is completed.

Thoughts:

I'm was excited to see how Janice Dickinson was going to behave in the jungle, but I was a little disappointed by how mellow she was. I would hope Heidi and Spencer would be the first to go, but I'm sure they'll stick around for a while since drama sells. What do you think about the new season? Post your thoughts below.
