Larry tells his team that he wants more people to look for Motobo. Larry tells his team that they need to find Tony and Jack to get to Dubako. Larry announces that Renee was abducted and that they are her only chance to get free.
Sean plays Larry a cleaned up version of the phone intercept of Emerson being instructed to execute Renee. Sean tells Larry that he is sorry that Renee is dead. Larry says that they are not sure that she is dead yet.
Meanwhile, Bill and Chloe go to where Renee was buried and begin to dig her up. They find Renee in a bag and see that she is not breathing. Bill performs CPR on Renee then injects her with adrenaline. Renee wakes up and begins to cough. BIll tells Renee that he is working with Jack and that he told them where to find her.
In the truck, Emerson calls Nichols and tells him that he is close to the rendezvous point, then hangs up. Emerson asks Jack if there is something bothering him. Jack asks Emerson how he got Tony out of the CTU. Emerson says that he was working with Anderson and that he intentionally missed Tony's artery when he injected him. He says that he was supposed to reunite with Anderson, but he was already dead. Emerson says that Tony wanted to join his team because of what the government did to his wife. Tony tells Jack that he thought that there was nothing after he lost his wife. He says that after Michelle died, Emerson and him took care of each other like brothers. The driver tells Emerson that they are close to their destination. Jack asks Tony if he is ready.
The truck pulls into a warehouse. After Jack gets out, Emerson disarms him and puts a gun to his head. Tony shoots the driver and points his gun at Emerson. Emerson says that he doesn't know what is going on with Tony. Tony tells Emerson that he is not concerned about the diamonds that Dubako was going to pay them. Tony says that he won't let Emerson kill innocent people. Jack tells Tony to take the shot. Tony shoots and Jack breaks away from Emerson. Tony shoots again and hits Emerson in the neck.
Bill tells Renee that Dubako's men have infiltrated the government. Bill tells her that she cannot contact the FBI because there are moles within her agency. He says that if she lets Dubako know that she is still alive, Jack's cover will be blown. Bill says that Motobo is the best chance for them to reach Dubako and the CIP. Jack calls and tells him that they have the Motobos and that Emerson is wounded. Jack frees Motobo and tells him that he is there to help him. He says that he kidnapped him to get Dubako's trust. Jack tells him that they need his help to get to Dubako.
At the hideout, Nichols tells Dubako that he is going to meet with Emerson. Dubako says that Emerson's team is a loose end and that he needs to tie it off. Nichols asks if he wants to use Emerson again. Dubako tells Nichols that he'd rather keep the diamonds that he was going to give to Emerson. Dubako says that the Americans have not retreated and that Taylor doesn't believe that they will not carry out their threats. Dubako says that Taylor will respond to dead Americans. Nichols tells Dubako that he will call back when he gets Motobo, then leaves. Dubako tells one of his men that he wants to target a plane near Washington D.C.
Taylor tells Ethan that the NSA has learned about another firewall breach. She says that she thinks that there is going to be another attack using the CIP device. Ethan tells Taylor that she should make a gesture of retreat to appease Dubako and Jooma. Ethan tells her to withdraw her forces. Taylor says that she will wait for reports on what departments are being targeted and where the CIP device is.
Tony looks at Emerson's neck wound and tells him that they crossed the line when they intended to harm Americans. Emerson tells Tony that if he is looking for forgiveness, to go to hell. Emerson removes the dressing on his wound, chokes on his own blood, then dies. On the other side of the warehouse, Jack tries to convince Motobo to work with him. Motobo's wife tells Motobo that Jack has no reason to lie. Motobo says that he doesn't want his wife involved. Jack tells him that they need to use his wife. After Motobo asks, Jack says that he can't guarantee that she will not be tortured. Motobo's wife tells Motobo that she wants to do what is right for her county. Motobo tells Jack that he will go with him. Jack tells them that they are very brave. Jack goes to Tony and tells him that they need to leave. Tony tells Jack that they should get the bodies out of sight.
At his hidden base, Dubako's men tells him that he is inside the FAA's communication system. Dubako tells the man to order a plane toward a new flight path.
Meanwhile at the Whitehouse, Ethan meets with Taylor and tells her that they have no idea what department the terrorists are planning to breach. He says that the FBI dedicated every man to find Dubako and that they are no closer in finding him. Homeland Security Secretary Tim Woods tells Taylor that Dubako is on the phone and wants to speak to her. Dubako tells Taylor that she has not taken his threats seriously. He says that the time for discussion and her deadline to withdraw have passed. Dubako tells her to look out her window. Ethan looks and sees an explosion as two planes collide with one another. Dubako tells Taylor that she has to comply within an hour or ten thousand more Americans will die. Taylor tells Ethan that she wants to meet with her Cabinet.
