Janis tells Renee that Jack headed west in a blue van. Sean tells Renee that the hacker is blocking their access to the traffic cams. Renee tells Larry that Jack played her. Larry learns that the White House is on the line. Janis tells Renee that the sniper that was shot at the pier is named Alan Tanner, a Desert Storm vet. Janis says that Tanner is barely alive, but unconscious at the hospital.

Ethan and Taylor ask Larry how Tony escaped. Larry says that Jack Bauer helped him out. Ethan says that they screwed up and they have no chance in locating the CIP device. Taylor tells Larry that finding Tony and Jack is his only priority. Ethan tells Taylor that they only have two hours before they have to withdraw in order to meet Dubako's demands. Ethan says that there are over a thousand planes still in the air. Taylor says that she ran on a platform of non-negotiation with terrorists and that she can't back down. Ethan says that they have to deal with the the current situation.

Jack is brought to an office and sees that Chloe is there. Jack asks Tony why he is not dead. Tony says that he was dead for 10 minutes. Tony says that a man named Emerson revived him and recruited him to join his organization. Tony says that he was really working for Emerson for three years because he was angry at the U.S. government. Tony says that he did some bad things while working for Emerson. Tony says that after he learned that his group was going to steal the CIP device, he realized that Emerson was planning to hurt innocent Americans. Jack tells Bill that if Tony was released, Emerson would think that Tony made a deal with the U.S. attorney. Jack realizes that since he helped Tony escape, Tony looks like he is still part of Emerson's team. Chloe tells Jack that Tony, Bill, him and herself are the only ones in that know what they are doing. Bill tells Jack that they have proof of low level employees working with Jooma. Jack says that he will work with them. Bill tells Chloe to call Emerson.

Emerson receives a call from Tony who tells him that he is free. Emerson says that he knows that Jack helped him escape. Tony tells Emerson that he told Jack that he can get him out of the country so Jack can escape the charges against him. Emerson tells Tony to bring Jack to meet him.

At the White House, Henry closes the door to the President's bedroom. He tells Gedge that he needs transportation. Henry says that he is going to meet with Samantha who called him. Henry asks Gedge to stay loyal. Gedge tells him that he will arrange the transportation. Taylor arrives and tells Henry that Motobo is going to meet her.
