At the Angry Skunk Bar, Knox and Daphne meet with Hiro in order to recruit him into the Pinehearst company. Knox tells Hiro that as a test to prove that he is a bad ass, he must kill Ando. Hiro is given a sword and readies to stab his friend.
Hiro stops time then goes into a toy store. He grabs a fake collapsible sword and a packet of blood. He then goes back in time to when he first entered the bar. Hiro tells Ando that in the future, he will pretend to kill him and to play the part.
He goes back to the current time with Knox, Daphne and Ando. He stabs Ando with his fake sword and he collapses. Knox is satisfied with his display of ruthlessness and leaves. Daphne says OMG and is angry that Hiro killed his friend. She says that he was not supposed to do that. Hiro then asks Daphne to take him to her boss. She says that she won't, instead her boss wants to send him on a mission.
Daphne hands Hiro a file on Usutu, the African who rescued Matt Parkman. She says that he is a 'precog' and will be able to predict their moves. She orders Hiro to kidnap the man and bring him to an address found on the card that she hands to him.
Daphne leaves and Ando gets up. Ando wants to accompany Hiro on his mission, but wants a change of clothes first.
In California, Claire discovers that Meredith is trying to capture Eric Doyle, a villain that escaped from the Level 5 facility at Primatech. Claire leaves to find Doyle and Sandra decides to come along.
At a marionette theater, Doyle is holding Meredith captive using a controlling power. Meredith is forced to mimic Doyle's movements. Doyle tells her that he will make her love him again. She says that he disgusts him. Doyle forces her to break a wine glass and press it against her neck. He tells her that she will love him and pulls the broken glass away, leaving a small gash.
At the Pinehearst Complex, Knox walks Adam Monroe to the room of Arthur Petrelli. Knox tells Monroe that his strength increases when he smells the fear of others. Monroe sees Petrelli connected to a respirator and realizes that he intends to take his power of immortality. Petrelli grabs Monroe and steals his power. Monroe is drained, transformed to a skeleton, then reduced to a pile of dust.
Petrelli then pulls out his respirator and says that it feels good to breathe again.
At the airport, Daphne regrets the work that she is involved in and begins to toss her files in the trash. The image of Linderman appears and tells her that she should not try to run. He convinces her to continue her mission.
Parkman, who has just arrived on a flight from Africa, starts to leave the airport with his new pet turtle. He recognizes Daphne from the visions and calls her name. Daphne approaches him and wonders how he knows her name. He says that it was a lucky guess and they sit down to talk.
Daphne gives Parkman a Pinehearst card and tells him that her boss wants to recruit him. She tells him all of his personal details that she learned from his file. Parkman tells Daphne that he saw the future in a dream and saw that they got married. He knows that she is a speedster and says that they are destined to be soulmates. Daphne tells Parkman that the conversation is 'getting kind of stalky' and that she needs to leave. She asks him to wait at the airport because she will be back later.
Nathan and Tracy arrive at Suresh's lab to get his help. Tracy explains that she is Nikki's sister and that she was given her power of freezing by a doctor named Zimmerman. Nathan says that he was also given his powers of flight.
Tracy and Nathan believe that Suresh is trying to help them and lets him inject them with a liquid. They soon pass out from the drugs that Suresh administered.
Daphne arrives at Sylar's room and gives him a card from Pinehearst. She tells him that she knows that he is a murderer and that someone wants to put his talents to good use. Sylar says that he is not a killer anymore and psychically restrains her. Daphne tells Sylat that the man that is trying to recruit him does not want him to change. Sylar lets her go, then she takes off with Flint, the blue fire thrower.
Sylar wakes Peter up from his coma and tells him that he won't hurt him. Sylar tells his brother that he is trying to be different. He says that he can control his hunger and that he believes that Peter can too. Peter remembers Sylar controlling his hunger in the future timeline and asks him how he does it. Sylar tells him that believing that he can control it gives him hope. He tells Peter that their mother is in trouble.
Hiro and Ando arrive in Africa in front of Usutu's hut. Ando goes around back while Hiro enters in front. Inside, Hiro sees a painting of a man hitting him in the head with a shovel. He feels that the paint is wet, turns around, and Usutu bonks him in the head with a shovel.
Back in California, Claire finds and enters Doyle's theater with Sandra. Sandra goes to the front door, which causes a bell to sound. Doyle goes to the front and Sandra asks him if she can hire him to perform for her son. He says no, but she offers him cash. Doyle says okay and gives her an application to fill out. She takes the form and a noise is made by Claire in the backroom. Sandra tries to run, but is stopped by Doyle's power of control.
Claire sees Meredith in the backroom. Meredith is frozen and unable to speak because of Doyle's command. Doyle then walks in with Sandra beside him. Claire points her taser gun at Doyle, but he controls her arm, causing her to discharge the weapon on a marionette.
