At his lab, Doctor Mohindra finds that his experiment of injecting himself with a formula to give him super powers has some adverse reactions. He has a rash on his back that causes his skin to peel. He hears a couple in a nearby apartment getting into a domestic dispute. He knocks on their door and intervenes by hitting the husband's head against the door frame. Mohindra leaves after the wife tells him to stop.

In California, Zimmerman is visited by Tracy in search of information about her body double. Zimmerman tells Tracy that she was one of four siblings, including Niki, who were separated after their parents died. Zimmerman explains that he manipulated their DNA but does not remember who ordered him to perform the procedures. He says that a company 'made' him forget what he did.

Four years in the future, Future Peter takes Present day Peter to the center of New York City. At first, everything looks the same, but Peter later sees everyone possessing super human abilities. Future Peter shows his former self a newspaper reporting an increase of crime throughout the world. He says that someone created an injection that enhanced people, but with these new powers self control was lost.

Future Peter tells his past version that he is now seen as a villain and should not make the same mistakes that he made. He says sides were chosen separating people who were born with super powers and those who were enhanced with them. He tells present Peter to seek out Sylar.

At that moment, Future Peter is shot and killed by Claire. Present Peter runs and pushes aside the Haitian while he makes his escape from Claire's barrage of bullets.

Claire takes the body of Future Peter to a lab and is met by the speedster, Daphne, and the Level 5 escapee, Knox, who now work for Claire. They set off to find and kill Peter.

Peter then enters Mohindra's lab in seek of help. He finds a hooded figure lurking in the corner. The man reveals himself to be Mohindra, but does not unveil his face. Peter wonders what happened to Mohindra as he grabs Peter with his reptilian like hand. Peter asks about Sylar and Mohindra says that his powers are dangerous.

Peter disappears and reappears at Sylar's home, which is Claire's former residence. Peter enters the house to find a little boy, Noah, greeting him as if he was his uncle. Sylar is in the kitchen wearing glasses and making a waffle breakfast. The house is littered with toys and Sylar now owns a little pomeranian dog.

Noah wonders where Peter's scar went and Sylar excuses himself into another room to speak to Peter alone.

Sylar knows that Peter is from the past and reveals to him that they are actually brothers. Sylar says he goes by Gabriel now and that he's grown from what he used to be, a murderous monster. Sylar says that he fights his hunger everyday because he is now a caring father. Peter tells Sylar that he wants to take his abilities because his future self warned him of a bleak future. Peter believes that with Sylar's powers, he can change this. Peter gives Sylar a brush and asks him to paint the future. Sylar turn white and goes into a trance.

In this future timeline, Matt Parkman is married to Daphne and the two have a child. Daphne is at home and asks to speak to Molly, who is living with them. Using Molly's powers, Daphne locates Peter in Costa Verde. Daphne leaves and tells Claire and Knox, who are waiting outside her apartment, where to find Peter.

Back at Sylar's house, he finishes painting an image of Earth ripping into two. Now wanting to help Peter by teaching him how to use his powers, Sylar gives him a broken watch. He tells Peter to think about the cause and effect of events in order to fix the watch. Using telekinesis, Peter fixes the watch. Sylar tells Peter that he is sorry, knowing that Peter has now gained his powers and has to fight the same hunger that he fights to contain.

Daphne, Knox and Claire arrive in Sylar's living room and hold Noah hostage. Noah is released and Daphne begins to fight Peter, while Knox attacks Sylar. Sylar is knocked into a table that crushes and kills Noah. Sylar becomes angry and unleashes an explosion within himself that destroys most of the town.

Back in present day, Nathan Patrelli is getting comfortable in his role as state Senator. Daniel Linderman tells Nathan that him that in the future he will continue doing God's work by becoming the President. Nathan is hesitant to trust Linderman.

Tracy, feels guilty for killing the reporter. She is about to call the police and turn herself in, but she freezes the phone before doing so.

Tracy returns to D.C. and offers Nathan her letter of resignation. She says that she knows what she has to do now and leaves. Linderman appears and tells Nathan to help her. Later, Tracy goes to a bridge and jumps off. Nathan then swoops down and saves her.

The two then go to Tracy's apartment to have a drink. After seeing Nathan's ability to fly, Tracy shows him her power to freeze objects. The two kiss and make love.

Back in the future, Nathan holds a press conference to express his grief over the loss of life at Costa Verde. He is now the President with Tracy by his side.

Peter is being held at lab after surviving the explosion. Claire and the Haitian approach Peter as he attempts to teleport out. The Haitian negates his powers. Claire grabs a scapel and tells Peter that she wants him to feel the pain of the 200,000 people who died. As she makes her first cut on his chest, she begins her count at one.

Nathan then enters the lab with his secret service detail. Nathan tells Claire to stop and she responds by asking if he is speaking to her as the president or as her father. Nathan says both. Nathan is left alone with Peter. Peter reads Nathan's mind and sees that Nathan believes that he is doing the right thing, but is wrong in his prediction of the outcome. Peter slams Nathan to the wall and begins to telekentically cut through his head, killing him.

Peter returns to the present day as the secret service try to barge in. He reappears in Sylar's cell on Level 5 of the Primatech facilities. Nathan begins to choke Sylar. As Sylar is being held by Nathan, he realizes that Nathan gained his power and hunger.

In Africa, Matt Parkman awakens from a dream. In this dream, he sees Daphne returning from Costa Verde and entering his apartment. He sees her collapsing and dying in his arms from her wounds sustained from Sylar's blast. Parkman is determined to find Daphne and sets off to find answers by following what he believes is his totem, a slow moving turtle.

At the Primatech facility, Ando and Hiro are brought to meet Angela Petrelli after a failed attempt to escape from their cell. Angela tells Hiro that his father's formula may be the downfall of the human race. Angela says that Hiro has the key to unlocking the mystery of the formula. They are sent to dig up a grave. When they open the casket they awaken the immortal Adam Monroe.

BeeThoughts

I thought the moment when Peter meets future Sylar was hilarious. It was funny to see him as a caring dad feeding his cute doggy. It is totally opposite from my perception of him being a heartless killer. I thought we saw alot of revelations and more questions presented in this episode. Finding Knox was working with Claire and Daphne ending up with Parkman was a few things we learned on this show. Like Sylar, and now Peter, I have a hunger. A hunger to know more. Why does Claire end up like she does? How is the world going to destroyed? What does Linderman want? I'll keep on watching to satisfy this hunger.
