Sylar, who is detained in the basement of the Primatech facility is visited by Angela Petrelli, who recently revealed to him to be his biological mother. She tells her son that she regrets giving him up for adoption. She says she wants to make it up and make him stronger.
A woman named Bridget is called in and Angela instructs Sylar to feed off her and take her power; she has the ability to see the history of an object including where it's been and who it's come in contact with.
Elsewhere, Nathan Petrelli informs his future version of his brother that he received a phonecall from his present day brother, however, the voice was not Peter's true voice. Future Peter tells his brother that he displaced the present day Peter into the body of one of the villains who was escaped the Primatech facility.
Meanwhile, the real Peter discovers that he is now in the body of Jesse. He joins with a group of fellow super powered escapees in hopes of stopping them from causing any further harm. The villains then initiate a plan to rob a bank.
During the robbery, the group's leader, Knox, notices that Jesse is not like himself and sees him show kindness to the hostages.
After taking all the money that they can carry, the crew prepares to leave. Before they can make their escape, the police surround the bank. Knox tells the crew that he called the police and it is all part of his plan to lure in and kill Noah Bennet, the man who initially captured all of them. One of the robbers wants to flee, but Knox stops him and kills him by punching him through his abdomen.
Back at Primatech, Angela meets with Noah and introduces him to his new partner, Sylar. Angela tells Noah that Sylar is misunderstood and should be given a chance. Noah is hesitant in working with the murderer, but ends up following Angela's orders.
Noah later sees a news report of the ongoing bank robbery. Knowing that the crimes are being committed by the recently escaped villains, Angela dispatches Noah and Sylar to take care of the situation.
Back at the bank, Knox is suspicious of his fellow gang member, Jesse/Peter, and tricks him into revealing that he is not who he appears to be. Knox then holds down Jesse/Peter to get the truth.
Noah and Sylar arrive at the scene and pose as FBI agents. Sylar is left behind as Noah enters the bank. Noah negotiates the release of the hostages in exchange for himself. Just before Knox is about to kill Noah, Jesse/Peter yells, unleashing Jesse's power of destructive voice.
Jesse/Peter breaks free and sends a powerful vocal wave towards Knox. Just before the impact, future Peter arrives and stops time. He approaches Jesse/Peter and ejects Peter out of his host body.
Present day Peter is angry at his future self. Future Peter says that he had to imprison him and tells him that he will show him his reasoning. Future Peter grabs present day Peter and together they disappear.
Time resumes back to normal and Knox is knocked down by Jesse's blast. Noah thanks Jesse thinking that it is still Peter, but Jesse's true self has returned. Noah is held down again.
Just before Noah is about to be killed, Sylar walks in the bank and uses his telekinesis to hold two of the three remaining villains. Noah shoots and wounds the third robber, Flint, a blue fire thrower.
After dusting off, Noah takes Flint outside the building. Seeing that he is separated from Noah, Sylar uses his power to close the doors and takes hold of Jesse. Knox escapes and Sylar, saying that he cannot control his 'hunger', kills Jesse, thus taking his power.
Meanwhile at the Bennet Household, Sandra, the woman who raised Claire, tries to have her daughter stick to a normal life while Meredith, her biological mother who is now staying to help watch over Claire, tries to guide her in exploring her supernatural powers.
When Claire asks Meredith to teach her how to fight, Meredith decides to pull her away from school to give her a lesson.
Meredith locks herself and her daughter in a shipping container. Trapped in the airtight box, Meredith uses her pyrokinesis powers to heat up the environment and burn off the oxygen. While Claire starts to panic and suffocate, Meredith gets her daughter to tell her the truth about why she wants to learn how to fight. Claire initially insists that she wants to fight in order to help people, but in the stressful situation she finally admits that she wants revenge.
Meredith tells Claire that she has to save herself before she can save the world then lets her go back home.
In Berlin, Hiro and Ando are hot on the trail of the speedy thief, Daphne, who took Hiro's half of his father's mysterious formula.
They find her in a theater lobby and she tells the two that she was paid to deliver the formula to someone who is inside. She tries to race off, but cannot activate her power. She runs away normally anyway and Hiro tries to activate his time stopping ability only to learn that he is unable to do so.
Hiro and Ando then see the bald headed Haitian in the theater carrying a steel briefcase. Hiro remembers seeing him in one of his time jumps and figures that he must be the formula's pick up man.
They follow him into the theater and wait until the formula's transfer is made. Suddenly, Daphane appears behind them and asks what they are doing. Daphane suggests to Ando that he is only a sidekick and not an equal partner of Hiro. Ando gets angry at her description and is determined to prove her wrong.
The Haitian moves away and meets a lady behind the movie screen. After the trade is made, Hiro distracts the Haitian while Ando hits him on the head, causing him to fall down a flight of stairs. Hiro recovers the briefcase, but Daphane quickly runs by and takes it. Hiro tries to stop time, however, the Haitian recovers, preventing him from activating his powers. Hiro and Ando are then taken into custody at the Primatech's Level 5 facility.
Matt Parkman, after being displaced to Africa by future Peter, finds himself following a native, Usutu, to his home. Usutu reveals that he has had visions of Parkman all of his life in which he paints on rocks and the ground. Parkman sees a painting of himself and a lady looking over an infant. Usutu covers this painting over saying that the future has changed. He goes into a trance and paints a new image, a scene which shows Parkman screaming while holding the body of a woman. Parkman then asks to see these visions as well. Usutu feeds Parkman a strange meal and places a pair of headphones on him, causing him to fall into a trance.
In D.C., Tracy Strauss, who looks exactly like Niki Sanders, grows curious about her new found ability of instant freezing and a video of herself showing her making love to Nathan Petrelli. She does not remember the event and decides to meet with Nathan.
Nathan leads Tracy to New Orleans to search for Niki. She arrives at the Sanders residence only to find that the family is having a wake for the dead. She walks up to the casket, opens it and finds the body of Niki Sanders.
Niki's son, Micah, walks in and mistakes Tracy for his mother. Micah shows her pictures of her mother and tells Tracy that she recently died in a fire.
Curious because of the similarities, Micah asks Tracy if she has powers of her own. Micah reveals his power of being able to control machines and uses a laptop to quickly conduct research.
He discovers that his mother and Tracy were born in the same hospital and had the same doctor by the name of Zimmerman.
Tracy then travels to the Zimmerman residence at Reseda, California. The doctor answers the door and instantly realizes who she is. Tracy asks if she should know him and he says no, however, he says he is the one who created her.
Meanwhile back at the Primatech facility, Sylar is put back in holding because of his murderous cravings. After Noah places Flint into a holding cell he has a conversation with the Haitian, who just brought in Hiro and Ando for captivity. He tells the Haitian that he will find Sylar's weakness then kill him.
BeeThoughts
If Noah wants to kill Sylar, I don't understand why he just doesn't get the Haitian next to the head slicing murderer. Isn't he supposed to be able to disable people's powers to a large extent. When the Haitan is close, just unload a box full of ammo into Sylar. I think afterwards, Noah could probably slice him up and put his various body parts into multiple food processors to later be sent into the sun using separate airtight containers. I think that Daphane is probably going to be the cause of the deterioration of the friendship between Hiro and Ando. Hiro knows the future and should squash any potential drama. I have a problem with this whole time jumping thing with Peter. Anyone who watched Star Trek knows the problem with paradoxes. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the rule dictate that anything that Peter does to his past should have already affected his own present and future?
