After Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery fails at love, she leaves Seattle Grace Hospital and heads to Los Angeles. She reunites with her friends from medical school Naomi and Sam Bennett, who have opened up a private medical co-op in Santa Monica called Oceanside Wellness Center. Naomi, a fertility expert, and Sam, a medical self-help author, are in the process of a divorce, but live with each other for the sake of their daughter and their private practice. Dr. Cooper Freedman, a pediatrician, also works at Oceanside along with his best friend Dr. Violet Turner, a psychiatrist. Dr. Pete Wilder, who practices alternative medicine, and young William Dell Parker, the receptionist, round out the staff. The show focuses heavily on relationships as well as the treatments for the patients.
