Me and My Town 5.9

Several people are in the hospital recovering from the fire at the bar. Susan learns that Mike is dating a friend of hers, Bree learns that Orson has a new side effect from an injury, Dave learns that there is a suspect in the arson, and Lynette learns about Anne's secret. Gabby is aware that she has lost her looks, but figures it doesn't matter since Carlos is blind. She visits him in the hospital where he is recovering from injuries sustained in the fire. The doctor tells Gabby and Carlos that he found a small bone fragment touching Carlos's eye and says that it could be causing his blindness. He says that if they remove that fragment, Carlos may be able to regain his vision. He tells Carlos that he can schedule him for surgery in a month and both Carlos and Gabby are thrilled.

Two detectives meet with Dave to ask him questions about the fire at the bar. Dave explains that he was on stage at the time the fire started and everything went up in flames so fast. They tell him that they think that it was arson and a body was found in the room they believe the fire was started. They then say that it may take a while to figure out a motive because they still need to identify the body found in the back room. They call Dave a hero for saving Mike, then leave.

Katherine visits Mike in the hospital, bringing him cookies. He asks for a kiss, but she says they can't kiss in public yet. Katherine says she is waiting for the right time to tell Susan about their relationship. As she leaves, she runs into Susan in the hallway. Susan asks Katherine who she is visiting and Katerine says everyone. Susan enters Mike's room. She asks where he got his cookies and Mike says a friend. Susan keeps asking who made the cookies and Mike tries to change the subject. Mike says he won't tell Susan who he is seeing because she wants to tell Susan herself. Susan realizes he is dating a friend of hers, then leaves.

Bree checks on Orson who is to be released later that day. Orson snores loudly, shocking Bree. The doctor says that Orson may have damaged his septum and he might need surgery to correct the problem. Bree asks for the surgery immediately, but the doctor says he will have to wait.

Dave visits Mike and Mike thanks him for saving his life. Dave says he wishes people would stop calling him a hero. Mike tells him that he will provide him with free plumbing for the rest of his life. Dave says free plumbing would be nice, but he hasn't had a good friend since his brother died and asks if Mike could be his new best friend. Mike says he would be happy to be his friend.

Lynette and Tom are approached in the hospital by the two detectives. They ask if Porter threatened to kill Mr. Schilling. Lynette says no and the detectives leave. Tom asks Lynette why he gets the feeling she lied.

Susan tells Gabby that she should be thrilled that Carlos could regain his sight. Gabby, sobbing, says that she feels awful about her current appearance. Edie shows up and tells Gabby that she heard the good news about Carlos. Edie then rubs it in that Gabby has lost her looks, but adds that Gabby has a whole month to fix her appearance.

Tom and Lynette talk about how Porter told Mr. Schilling he wanted him dead. Tom doesn't think Porter could commit arson for revenge. Lynette reminds Tom that Porter had burned down a building in the past. Tom wonders what they are going to do. Lynette says that they are going to protect their son, even if he killed six people.

Gabby cooks a healthy meal for her and her girls. Neither her or her girls are happy with the low calorie fare. Gabby tells her daughters that she needs to lose some weight, but they don't care. Gabby tells them that they are responsible for ruining her body and says that they are going to eat fish with her and are going to like it.

Edie asks Dave if he's okay. He says that he can't believe seven people were killed from the fire. Edie tells Dave that people are saying Porter is rumored to have started the fire. She tells him that she's know Porter since he was a little kida nd she's never trusted him. Dave is surprised to hear the rumor.

Orson sees that Bree has slept on the couch. She tells him that his accident has caused him to snore, loudly. Orson tells her that he can't help it, but Bree tells him that he could have surgery to correct the problem. Orson refuses because he is afraid that he may die during the unnecessary surgery. Bree tells him that the surgery is necessary because she needs good sleep while she's promoting her book.
