Detective Foley marks a missing girl as deceased. The mother of another missing girl walks in and he tells her that the body they found was not her daughter's. He tells her to get some sleep, but she says she can't without knowing. She asks to have her daughter's necklace. He tells her that it is in evidence. He asks why she wants it and she says he says it could tell him things. She then goes to a man's house. He sits with the necklace and she asks him what he sees.

Garcia reads her horoscope. Derek and Emily say horoscopes are gibberish. Garcia asks Spencer when Emily was born, then reads her horoscope. JJ walks in and the team welcomes her back. JJ tells the team about the four blond women that went missing. She says they found the body of one of the victims after she had been missing for 9 months. She says they can't figure out the time of death because the body had been embalmed. Spencer sees that the victims were abducted three months apart, which means the killer is rotating them out.

Emily asks the other detectives what the process of embalming entails. Emily says the process freaks her out and she wants to be cremated. Spencer thinks that the killer may have a fear of abandonment. David thinks that 2 of the other 3 missing women may already be dead. Spencer says that most abduction victims are killed within the first 36 hours. The team thinks they have only a short time to find Brooke, the last girl who was abducted.

The team goes to the woods where the body of the first victim was found. Derek digs in the mud and finds a gold cross necklace. Someone then calls out that they found another body. Spencer sees another necklace and says the killer cares for the women.

Emily and Hotch talk to Detective Foley. He says the women were all taken after they were done with work. Emily reads that Brooke's necklace was found by her car. Hotch asks to take a look at it. Foley admits that he returned it to Brooke's mother. Foley says she gave it to a psychic who had success in the past finding a missing person. Brooke's mother makes a video plea to the killer saying she knows Brooke is alive and she is about to have her 27th birthday. David watches the video and thinks that the mother is getting false hope from the psychic.

David and JJ tell Brooke's mom that they think the man who took Brooke may have came by her work. David asks if Brooke ever mentioned a man who stared at her and made her uncomfortable. Brooke's mom tells David to use the necklace to look for clues. Mr. Usher, the psychic, says he can read people's energies from their belongings. JJ asks Usher what he found. He says Brooke felt weakend, tired and heavy. David asks to speak to Usher alone. David scolds Usher for giving Brooke's mom unrealistic ideas. He says a lot of people don't believe in David's job either. JJ then gets a call letting her know they found a third body.

The medical examiner says the cause of death was blood loss. She says the girls were all on barbiturates. Spencer notices the women all had the same haircuts. The medical examiner points out that the women's ears were double pierced. She says she found trace amounts of semen, but it was deposited after the women were dead.

JJ says none of the victims had double pierced ears when they were taken. The team thinks the killer is remaking the women in the image of a loved one. JJ says the psychic said Brooke was heavy which means she may be alive, but on barbiturates. David tells JJ a necrophiliac has no use for a living body.

The team says they are looking for a white male in his mid to late 20s with money. He lives alone in a place with a room large enough to be an embalming suite. They think he is remaking the victims in the image of a loved one. Spencer says the killer shows signs similar to Ed Gein who dug up women that mirrored the image of his dead mother. Emily hands Foley and his team suspect profiles. Spencer suggests they look at people who are in the business of death.

The detectives go out to cemeteries and funeral homes to collect DNA samples from workers. Spencer meets with a grounds keeper who says a grave was overturned and some items were stolen, but the body wasn't taken. David asks a funeral director if he knows anyone who enjoyed dressing dead women. He remembers he hired an odd guy a while back that they fired. He says the man put a wig on the victims and dressed them up. Hotch asks for the employee's name. The owner tells him and also hands over the wig.
