Hodgins finds traces of limestone on the front and back of Jeffrey's clothes. Caroline then walks in, furious about the beetles. She says that the judge has now ordered that the team only has two days longer with the art piece. If they are unable to solve the crime in that time, they'll be out of luck.

Angela goes to Roxie's loft and sees her artwork. Roxie says that Helen is arranging for her to have a show. She says that her last show was 8 years ago, when she and Angela were together. Roxie asks Angela about the case, but Angela says she can't talk about it. Angela sees a portrait of herself and tells Roxie she remembers sitting for the piece. She asks why Roxie never sold it and Roxie says that it was never for sale.

Angela returns to the lab, saying she knows how to prove Jeffrey's death was a suicide. She brings in a machine that is able to study the crushed car and recreate the actual crushing. They will then be able to see that all the fractures on the bones were caused from the crushing, not from anything else. Daisy offers her help, annoying everyone. Angela is able to illustrate the event and find that all 88 fractures were caused by the crushing. Angela and Bones then notice that there is an 89th fracture on the skull that is not explained, which means Jeffrey was murdered.

Since the art work is now a crime scene, the judge is allowing the detectives to destroy it if necessary. Hodgins cuts open the car, revealing the bones inside. Bones says that they have to carefully remove the skull. Daisy reaches in, grabs the skull, then breaks it into several pieces. She apologizes and offers to reassemble it. Bones tells her not to help and says she'll do it herself.

Angela rides with Booth to talk to Anton again. They look up his record and find he has been arrested for fraud in the past, making him a prime suspect. Angela asks Booth if her previous lifestyle freaks him out. He tells her that he had an Aunt who was gay, so he's okay with it. They arrive at Anton's loft. Booth asks Anton how he makes his money. Angela looks at his work and realizes the brushstrokes match those on Jeffrey's car pieces. Booth thinks Angela is suggesting that he forges Jeffrey's work, but Angela explains that it actually means that Anton is the painter for Jeffrey's work. Anton admits to being paid to paint Jeffrey's pieces. He tells the detectives he would have no reason to kill his source of income.

Angela finds Bones putting together the skull. Angela says that the killer can't be Roxie. Bones asks if she still has feelings for her and Angela says yes. Angela explains that she broke Roxie's heart when she broke up with her. Bones points out that she breaks a lot of people's hearts. Bones then finishes the skull and recognizes the fracture as resulting from a blow from a fire axe.

Hodgins does further analysis on Jeffrey's clothes and finds silicon oxide in addition to the limestone. He says that that is the makeup of the studio floor. Camille says she found that the pig's blood was mixed with human blood. The detectives return to the studio. The police officer says that they can't find the actual human blood because it was covered up by turpentine. Booth takes a lighter and sets the floor on fire, revealing a trail leading to the loading dock. With the turpentine burned off, the detectives can see the trail of blood illustrates that Jeffrey was killed in the studio and rolled to the car in the loading dock. They think a woman must have killed him and was then not strong enough to carry him to the car, so she rolled him. The detectives ask Helen what her alibi was for the night Jeffrey was killed. Helen says she was home watching TV and reminds them that she had no reason to kill him.

Angela tells Sweets that she wants to get back together with Roxie. Sweets advises against it, but Angela says he just doesn't approve of her lifestyle. She says that he thinks love is only real if it's permanent, but she believes that nothing is permanent. Sweets suggests that Angela is afraid of commitment. Sweets convinces Angela to put Roxie's feelings first and wait to see if Roxie wants to get back together with her before she makes a move.

Back at the lab, Hodgins analyzes the axe. He finds turpentine and trace chemicals that Daisy says make up female sweat. She suggests that he compare the make up to Roxie's DNA. The team is irritated by Daisy's delivery, but Camille says she's right and they should prepare Angela.

Camille talks to Sweets about how to deal with an annoying coworker. Sweets automatically thinks she's talking about him, but Camille says she is actually talking about Daisy. She says Daisy annoys everyone and they're going to have to let her go. Sweets tells Camille that he will tell Daisy she's fired. Camille tells Sweets that he should be flattered that everyone goes to him for advice.

Hodgins analyzes the sweat further and finds that it has traces a medications used to treat cancer. Bones says that it means Roxie is not the killer because one of the drugs found causes severe, visible skin discoloration. Booth and Bones question Helen again and Bones asks her to take her makeup off. They get Helen to admit she has cancer and wanted to kill Jeffery so that his work would become more valuable, giving herself more money to spend on medical treatment.

Roxie asks Angela what she should do now that both Jeffrey and Helen are out of the picture. Angela suggests she use the money from Jeffery to start her own art studio. They then talk about their past relationship and kiss.

Sweets walks into the lab and the detectives watch to see how he fires Daisy. Sweets tells Daily he has good news and bad news. Daisy asks for the bad news first. He tells her that no one likes her and she's fired. Daisy then asks for the good news and Sweets says that they don't have to hide their love anymore. Daisy is surprised and says that she thought he was keeping it a secret because he was embarrassed by her. Sweets then kisses Daisy, shocking the rest of the team.
