Two men scale a metal wall of a junkyard to find car parts for one of the guy's father. The men are drunk and stumble through the yard. One guy notices a side view mirror that would make a nice gift for his father and begins to pry it off. When he removes the mirror, blood spills out and the men see a skull, causing them to scream.
Angela and Sweets have drinks at a bar together. Angela talks to him about her not having sex in six weeks, the longest she's gone since she lost her virginity at 16. Sweets uncomfortably suggests that she may be waiting because she was hurt and doesn't want to open herself up to pain again. Angela takes his advice to mean that she needs to experience pain before she can feel pleasure and says she's ready to start dating again.
The crushed car from the junkyard is brought in and the team examines it. Daisy Wick, the intern, annoys everyone as they propose how to examine the body inside the car. Angela asks Hodgins if he's seeing anyone yet. He says no and she says she isn't either, but is ready to start. She tells him that Sweets said it was a good time for her to move on.
Bones checks in with Booth who was looking into who dropped off the car at the junkyard. She meets up with him and he tells her that B&B Enterprises dropped off the car. He says they have dropped of several others and suspects they may be with the mob. Booth and Bones approach the building registered to the company and fight over who should hold the gun. Booth breaks in and the two are confronted by a woman (played by Vicki Lewis) dressed in a Kabuki outfit.
The woman says her name is Helen. When the lights are turned on, Booth and Bones see several other crushed cars. Helen says that the cars are pieces of art created by Jeffrey. Bones notices blood on the floor. Helen says the blood is from a pig and was used by an artist in a performance piece. A woman named Roxie (played by Nichole Hiltz) enters the room, identifies herself as Jeffrey's assistant, and asks if she can help.
The police finish searching the studio and say that the cadaver dogs found no bodies and the blood is not human blood. The detectives tell Roxie that Jeffrey was found crushed inside one of his pieces of art. Roxie asks Helen if Jeffrey really could have been killed and Helen assures her it was probably just a publicity stunt for his upcoming show. Roxie and Helen are then shown a ring found on the skeleton in the car and they positively id it as belonging to Jeffrey. Booth and Bones ask if Jeffrey had any enemies and they say he had a rival artist named Anton Deluca.
Hodgins arrives at the lab with the jaws of life, excited to get to rip open the car. Camille tells him that she's analyzed the blood and tissue samples and found massive doses of medications for depression and pain. Camille thinks Jeffrey's death could have been suicide. Hodgins fires up the jaws of life, but Caroline walks in and stops him. She says that Helen complained to a judge that the car was an historic work of art and could not be destroyed. The judge agreed and issued an injunction. Camille says that they can analyze the car, but they cannot disrupt the art.
Bones and Booth talk to Anton (played by Jonathan LaPaglia). He confirms that he hated Jeffrey and thinks it's funny that he turned up dead inside one of his art pieces. Bones compliments Anton's work. Anton suggests that they talk to Jeffrey's girlfriend, Roxie, who he left all his money to in his will.
Camille uses a remote control camera to try to examine the body in the crushed car. She is unable to remain steady and Daisy insists she can take over. She grabs control and is able to maneuver successfully through the twisted metal. Bones "accidentally" dumps a bucket of beetles into the art piece, figuring they'll be able to eat away all the flesh in about an hour. Daisy talks to Camille about her family and being screwed up. Camille suggests Daisy see a therapist and Daisy says it's a good idea. Daisy finally is able to examine the bones and finds multiple fractures that could have occurred when the car was crushed or before he was put in the car.
The team finds out that Roxie and Angela knew each other. They find out that they were roommates in college. Booth questions Roxie, ignoring Sweets' directions from behind the glass. Roxie says that Jeffrey was suicidal and taking medication for depression. Booth asks if Roxie had an intimate relationship with Jeffrey and she says no, they were just friends. Booth asks why Jeffrey would leave his entire estate to her if they didn't have a sexual relationship. Roxie is surprised to learn about the will, but says she wasn't romantically involved with Jeffrey because she is gay.
Angela confirms that Roxie is gay and says that she had a relationship with her that lasted for over a year. Booth is surprised to learn about Angela's past. Angela says that there's no way Roxie would have dated a man or killed anybody. Bones suggests that she may just be too close to her to see the truth. Angela points out that they are jumping to conclusions. They don't even have evidence that Jeffery was murdered. As far as they know, Jeffrey committed suicide.
