Week 7: April 22

- The seventh episode of America's Next Top Model Cycle 12 aired tonight. Read the recap and review to find out what happened and who was eliminated.

The remaining six contestants are excited to head to Brazil. They arrive and meet with supermodel Fernanda Motta. She instructs the ladies to pair up and look for the girl from Ipenema's favorite flowers and bring them to her. Aminat and Teyona, Celia and Allison, and Fo and Natalie race to their destination. Fo and Natalie are the first team to arrive, followed by Allison and Celia, and Teyona and Aminat arrive in last place. Fo and Natalie are told that they will have a prize waiting for them at their new place.The ladies then meet the woman who inspired the song and she hands the ladies the key to their new place.

The ladies arrive at their new home and learn that they have to share their beds with each other. The ladies all think Natalie is overconfident and complains too much. They get their first Tyra mail that tells the girls to give her fight and flight. The ladies are taken to a square where they watch a Capoeira performance. The ladies are given a quick lesson and are paired up to practice. Celia accidentally kicks Aminat in the eye during their first round. Jay and Miss J then show up and the ladies are told that they will have to use their new skills in the next photo shoot. They are told that the winner will get 50% more frames that they will be taking away from another contestant. The ladies strike their poses, receive their criticisms, then Jay announces that Fo is the winner. Fo picks Teyona to have her frames taken from as payback for not bringing her along on the Seventeen shoot that Teyona won last week.

The ladies return home and get Tyra mail that tells them they will be enjoying the fruits of their labor. Teyona confronts Fo on her choice and Fo tells her that now she knows how it feels to get dissed by someone you thought was a friend. The ladies meet up with Jay at a favela and he tells them that they will be made up as Carmen Miranda for their next photo shoot. He tells them that they should embody the sexiness that Carmen brought the the stage. The ladies return home and get Tyra mail that reminds them that they will be meeting with the judges tomorrow. The ladies talk to each other about their shoot and wonder who will be the one to go home.

The ladies gather in front of the judges and see the results of their photo shoot. The judges tell Aminat she was beautiful, but boring. They tell Natalie she lacked spice and she blames Jay for telling her to not change her pose. Tyra tells Celia that she had her weakest shoot in the competition. Allison comes forward and the judges agree that she nailed it. The judges tell Fo that her pose was cute, but not like a model. Teyona is the last to step forward and the judges told her she looked great. The ladies leave the room and the judges deliberate. They reach a decision and call the ladies back into the room. Tyra tells Allison that she took the best picture. She then calls forward Teyona, Fo, and Celia leaving Natalie and Aminat to face elimination. The two step forward and Tyra tells Natalie that she is beautiful, but uninspiring. Tyra then tells Aminat that she looks great, but she doesn't give much effort in her shots. Tyra tells Aminat that she can stay in the competition and Natalie has to pack her bags and leave.

Goodbye Natalie

I was surprised that Natalie remained in the competition as long as she did. The judges moved pretty quickly to get all the traditionally pretty girls out of the competition. It was odd that she was able to nail a lot of the challenges, but she always gave the same face for her photo shoot. It looks like if Aminat doesn't step up her game, she will be the next to go home.
